Learned from Lacy

This is Lacy. Our dog.

I have learned a lot from Lacy. Below are the highlights of what I have learned, in no particular order.

  • Be Optimistic. Lacy always expects you to share whatever you have; food, space, attention, love. No matter how many times she doesn't get what she expects she still hopes for it the next time.
  • Don't Judge. Lacy doesn't care who you are, she wants to be friends.
  • Be excited to see friends. It doesn't matter who comes over, Lacy is excited to see you.
  • Be More than Others Expect. Lacy is part pit-bull. When we tell people that they expect her to be a vicious attack dog. She isn't. She is a sweetheart and a push over. She is eager to please and just wants to be loved.

Yummy!

Daniel spent a lot of time on Saturday making our famous "man chili" for the Super Bowl. Let's be honest, it's not about the game for me. I'm not a huge sports fan. Daniel enjoys watching the game, but I enjoy chatting with my friends.

Daniel is such a sport. The prep took him 3 1/2 hours for a double batch. It's a lot of work, but it tastes so good.
Meat. Lots of meat. That's a 10 inch dinner plate under there.

Onions and peppers and garlic.

Tons of sauce.

Frying the meat.

A wound here and there.

Spices.

A little bit if sautéing and then the house smells delicious.

A little love from a messy but talented chef.

And then you have a batch of fantastic meaty flavorful chili that people drool over and request.

Do you like chili? Do you even like food as much as we do?
